Prayer is the foundation of all we do as a church. It is as essentioal to our life as a faith community as air is to our physical bodies. Here at St Mary's and St Christopher's we seek to be a community of prayer at the heart of Chepstow, following in the 950 year tradtion of the Benedictine monks who worshiped in St Mary's.

We have many opportunities to pray.

Personal Prayer
St Mary's is open every day and we have developed a quiet prayer chapel in to alcove near the south transcept. This is a space for anyone to sit and be still, light a candle or leave a written prayer request. All prayer requests are collected each day and prayed for during our daily Morning Prayer.

Praying Together

Wednesday and Friday we have twenty minutes of Contemplative Silent Prayer in St Mary's starting at 8am

Following Silent Prayer at 8.30am we meet with other churches in Coffee #1 to say Morning Prayer together.

On the first Thursday of every month there is a Parish Prayer meeting to pray together for the Town and the Church, starting at 7pm.

Other Opportunities
Apart from our regular times for prayer there will be other special occasions when we gather to pray, such as quiet days and special sessions on different ways to pray. Please consult our events calendar or Facebook page.
